Sierra became determined to hike the 2,665 mile Pacific Crest Trail in 2010. That summer Sierra hiked the 217 mile John Muir Trail, climbing Half Dome, celebrating her 7th birthday in Evolution Valley, and climbing Mount Whitney (elevation 14,496 feet) along the way. Sierra met many PCT hikers on her hike and, by the end, became determined to hike the PCT herself. She was thoughtful enough to invite Heather (aka Sierra's mom), a second grade teacher, along for the hike!
